Yoga asanas are poses that help our body in muscular and mental development. With practice of yoga one can achieve healthy life. Yoga and all yoga asana are based on the ideology that our body is position and pose directly affects the mind. The knowledge of understand what affects the mind and how it can be controlled physically was the basis of pantanjali’s teachings.

Yoga asana help both in spiritual and physical development as mentioned before so it is important to make it a regular practice to do yoga. This will require a very good amount of will power, strength and flexibility. Do not worry if you cannot commit to these in the beginning, with time you will learn how to master them with yoga.

The real benefit of yoga is that it is natural and does not have any side-effects. Even though there are different yoga techniques the base is the same. Some are for purification, others for strengthening, steadying, calming the nerves, for lightness and flexibility, for balance, and for self-confidence. Yet others are for spiritual use in meditation.

If you overstrain through wrong use of the Asanas, certain forces are awakened prematurely or damage is done to the fine network of vital channels, known as the nadis, which weave a fabric of vital energy protecting you from outside influences and detrimental vibrations. It is your shield of protection. Awareness of this etheric shield will come to you through patient observation of the body and correct application of the breathing and asanas.
